I’m very happy to see there are so many people interested in this blog.
I would like to thank people of zabbix.com forum for their feedbacks, as well as all users who install my products and support the project by reporting bugs and sharing their opinions.It helps me to improve my programs and develop new features.

Orabbix 1.2.0-RC3 has been released!!
On this release:
- modified the extension of all configuration files to remove collision (you will never found overwrote your own config files)
- Now is needed specify the QueryFile for each database
- Implemented Apache Daemon and now Orabbix can run as a service on MS Windows
- Solved an issue about “alive” items
- Changed startup script now jar don’t have more a predefined classpath but it’s generated dynamically

All these new features should be tested.
DBforBIX 0.2 has been released!
on this release :
- Now DBforBIX can run as window service
- improved start/stop script to solve dynamic “classpath” issue
This release can run as a windows service. This mean that now you can run on Microsoft Windows and is fully supported.
Install as a windows service now it’s really easy you only need to:
- install on a windows server on this location dbforbix on C: disk
- double click on “install.cmd”
- after you will find a service called “DBforBIX Universal DataBase Monitor for Zabbix”
- comes with a graphical interface to manage the main parameters Java Virtual Machine
- start/stop available from graphical interface too
DBforBIX still remain superscalar and multi thread.
Andrea and Jason are working on a complete documentation and will be available as soon as possible.

DBforBIX is the first integrated solution for monitoring the most used databases.
DBforBIX arises from the need to integrate all born of Orabbix’s fork.
Now all the SmartMarmot product are resumed into a single fully integrated *BIX solution.
DBforBIX can enquiry:
- Oracle
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- DB2 (not tested, it can be unstable)
- MS SQL Server (not tested, it can be unstable)
Finally now one demon has the ability to monitor all the databases that can be found in a heterogeneous environment.
DBforBIX still remain superscalar and multi thread.
NOTE: now Items are collisionless because they have a prefix how adviced from Aaron Kulik (thank you Aaron)
